The GAAโs ever popular โIreland Lights Upโ initiative returns in January 2024 in partnership with RTEโs Operation Transformation, Get Ireland Walking and the Irish Life โMy Lifeโ app.
โIreland Lights Upโ encourages GAA clubs across the 32 counties to light up and bring communities together to walk and talk in a safe environment during the dark winter evenings. As ever, a club participating in Ireland Lights Up will be showcased each week on RTEโs Operation Transformation. Last year, tens of thousands of participants improved on their physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
Embark on a new chapter for Naomh Ultan this year with the introduction of our new walking track facilities, now operational and ready for use. We are thrilled to announce our participation in this year's initiative for the very first time. Join us as we kick off the activities this Thursday, January 11th at 7 pm, urging our community to come together and get walking!
Commencing on January 11th, we will host our "Ireland Lights Up" events every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm throughout the duration of this initiative. Let the glow of our fully lit track illuminate your evenings as we stride towards a healthier and more connected community!

CE Scheme & TรS Initiative Roles -
CLG Naomh Ultan are offering opportunities to work at the Club through the Community Employment Scheme (CE Scheme) and TรS Initiative to gain some experience or learn new skills. If you are aged between 21 and 60+, unemployed and receiving an eligible Dept. of Social Welfare benefit payment, you may qualify for work at our Club.
If you're aware of anyone who might be inclined to volunteer for an hour or two each week in and around the clubhouse and dressing rooms, please don't hesitate to inform us. This could be a family member, perhaps someone who is retired, or even yourself, or anyone simply seeking an opportunity to enjoy an hour outdoors.
Every club, including Naomh Ultan, is facing the challenge of finding volunteers willing to contribute a bit of their time to support what the club provides to the community.
If interested in either of the above, please contact us via DM on Facebook or by contacting Club Chairman Alan Lyons (087) 468 9435
More Information on CE Scheme and TรS Initiative.
